Remove materials. Keep your vision.
Embellishments often are at odds with sustainability. Fathom Effects can serve your and your customers’ initiatives without giving up eye-catching packaging. Some examples:
Produce monomaterial packaging
Fathom Effects can help you achieve single-material labels and packaging, whether it's printed on clear plastic or paperboard.
End Cast & Cure production waste
These embellishments use up master films that are thrown out after a few uses. Fathom Effects just use ink and plates.
Cut out shrink film
Fathom Effects can be printed directly on your packaging with a varnish separation layer, to cut out an additional material.
Print effects with less toxic materials
Fathom Effects work with soy-based inks, on compostable materials like PLA resin or cellulose-derived films.
Remove foil from an existing package
Achieve shimmer with foil-like effects made from ink, and eliminate metal foil waste from the manufacturing process.
Fathom dimensional effect—just ink on paperboard.
Eliminate lenticular lenses
Use Fathom Effects to create moving graphics without that additional thick chunk of plastic, using a simple process that you control in our online design tool, Fathom Designer. And unlike lenticular, you can overprint on our effects.
Foil-like Fathom Effect that’s only ink.
Easy to implement.
Adding Fathom Effects to your existing design is easy. Add spot colors to your design file to designate effect areas, drop it in our online tool, assign effects and preview. Then send the file to your converter for prepress.
With software-based embellishments, we have the flexibility to go where others can’t. Talk to us about your sustainability initiatives and we can develop something with you.
Sustainable for your budget, too.
Many embellishments require materials that add pre- and post-consumer waste such as foils, films or specialty inks. These also incur per-unit costs that Fathom Effects don’t have. Our process uses standard inks on widely available presses, which means your amazing design will actually get through the budget gauntlet to see the shelves.
